Thanks for the thoughts ...

I am not sure how they get the figure 10,000 - but the report said something like 5000 were shot last year (!) and 20 requests a day suggests something like 7500 ... that's if we accept the statistics as quoted.

Your suggestion that shooting dogs rather than people reminds me of what one politician has commented ... better to have the arguement in parliament than on the streets ...

As for lady who got bitten ... yes, she's getting better - but slowly ... and no, the dog hasn't been put down ... yet ... she hasn't written a complaint to the police even though she's not the first person it has bitten, and it was a particularly nasty injury that it inflicted, (why not?: "it's a neighbour's dog" !!!) but the doctor is pretty angry about it and she thinks he might take some action. We'll see.

I hope you are keeping well. Thanks for the postcard. Viscous dogs ? Well thick maybe :-)) Vicious definitely!

Whilst the KR approach to strays appears tough I fully support the cull as they dont have pound or neutering facilities and the problem will inevitably get worse if unchecked. 10,000 is a huge number when you consider its about 7,500 annually in UK!

I prefer to protect innocent children and adults from attack than worry about 'humanitarian' solutions. There may be a benefit in the police shooting dogs as that may distract them from shooting people :-)
Take care my friend and I hope the dear lady who was viciously attacked is getting better and that the dog involved was put down.
