I am now back from Kyrgyzstan, and I have to say that we all had an absolutely fantastic time and the country is so beautiful. W

I also happened to be in Bishkek on Thursday so I found your postcard really interesting reading today. We did have to pass through one of the road blocks, with hundreds of armoured police, but we luckily didn't see any of the troubles or demonstrations, despite walking past the White house. As you say, helicopters were definitely evident in the skies!

Thank you for your help and advice, and I hope to return to visit Kyrgyzstan one day....

thanks a lot for your continued indepth information on what's going on in Kyrgyzstan. Your "Postcards from Bishkek" are a real treasure of news and contemporary history, and I only hope that you will write a marvellous, adventurous book on a successful expat hotelier who faced the 'Great Game', then and now, in all its shades and facets. It could be a Hospitality Manual for investors, on hard and soft investment factors, and much more.
